Faculty and Staff
I graduated from Greenville High School and received a BS in Education from Florida State University. I began my teaching career in Birmingham, Alabama. I have taught in the public school systems of Madison and Suwannee County. In 1983, I began teaching at Melody Christian Academy, and shortly thereafter became principal. All four of my children graduated from Melody Christian Academy, and each went on to receive a 4-year college degree. My daughter Laura works alongside me in administration and as the athletic director. Her husband Darrin is the pastor of Melody Church. My daughter Leslie was Valedictorian of Florida State University Medical School. She now works at the Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL, where she lives with her husband Michael and daughter Rosamund. My son Frank teaches English Honors, and AP classes here at Melody, and lives in Live Oak with his wife, Jess and son, Simon. He is also involved musically in our church. My youngest daughter, Lisa, works as the Community Manager at the American Cancer Society in Panama City, where she lives with her husband Brad and son, Maddux. My three grandbabies, Sophia, Isabella, and Darrin Christian, all attend Melody.
I am a native of Suwannee County and a 2006 graduate of Suwannee High School. I received my associate’s degree from North Florida Community College and received a double major in Criminology and Sociology from Florida State University in 2010. After graduation I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I studied at Rhema Bible College and completed two years of Biblical Studies. After graduating in 2012, I moved back to Live Oak, where I now work at Melody Christian Academy. I am also married to the most amazing woman, Katy Yanossy and we have two daughters, Charlotte and Clara.
For 13 years I had the privilege of teaching at my alma mater. I am a proud graduate of Melody Christian Academy and Oral Roberts University. I am blessed to have all three of my children all attending Melody. I am married to the love of my life, and since our wedding day we have been in full-time ministry together. We love our life, and we are so blessed to live and work where we do.

Frank Davis, Jr.
I graduated from MCA in 2003 and proceeded to obtain an AA from NFCC and a BA in English from Flagler College. In addition to teaching standard social studies courses, I've had the privilege of teaching several AP courses, including AP U.S. History, AP European History, and AP Literature and Composition. Thanks to a remarkably supportive administration and a cooperative and driven staff, my time here at MCA has been especially fulfilling.
I grew up in Suwannee County and graduated Valedictorian from Suwannee High School in 2004. I then attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where I received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology in 2008. Afterwards I attended Santa Fe Community College for additional science courses before attending Florida Gulf Coast University for 2.5 years of graduate-level coursework. I have always been an avid reader, especially in science-fiction and fantasy genres, but will read anything as long as it’s a good read. I’m now back in Live Oak, FL and look forward to helping students succeed in their educational goals and reach their greatest potential.
I have had the privilege of working at Melody Christian Academy for the past five years at both the elementary and high school level, teaching numerous subjects. I have a beautiful 10-year-old daughter who attends MCA as well. I obtained my BA from Saint Leo University in 2003. My daughter and I also attend church and assist in many areas of ministry at Melody Church.
Jacob Pitts graduated from North Florida Community College with his AA. He then spent two years teaching the GED in the prison system. Jacob is originally from Madison, FL but now lives in Suwannee County with his wife Paige, daughter Claire, and their two dogs, Reggie and Bonnie. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering at church and watching the Green Bay Packers.
6th Grade teacher
I have been teaching at Melody Christian Academy for nine years now. I have also worked in the public school system and at North Florida Community College interpreting for two years. I have continued my education through training at St. Augustine for the deaf and the blind. I believe that teaching is a privilege gifted by God and I have been honored to be a part of this gift. I not only enjoy being able to teach young people something that I am passionate about, but I am thankful for the lives that I am able to speak into. My prayer is that when all is said and done they will remember a teacher who not only taught, but truly cared about who they were and where they were going in life!
I worked for a full-time ministry organization that focused on outreach to public schools. After nearly ten years, I decided to pursue law enforcement and earned a degree in criminal justice with a minor in elementary education. I attended NFCC and Saint Leo University and graduated with high honors. I served my local community as a sheriff deputy for nearly two years and began teaching 6th grade. I have been married eighteen years to my wife Heidi and have four children: Dylann, Briana-Lee, Lindsay, and Madison. They all attend school at Melody.

Mrs. Townsend loves those moments when the "lightbulb" glows in a child's mind and he or she understands a new and exciting concept. She enjoys teaching children the foundations of reading, and training them in choices and behaviors that are pleasing to the Lord. Mrs. Townsend has been married to her husband Mike for 19 years, and all five of her children attend Melody. She is also the pastor's wife at Live Oak First Assembly church, and has a passion for teaching God's Word.

I have been at Melody for the past 13 years. I am a widow with two wonderful boys, James and Jeremy. My son Jeremy is a graduate of Melody Christian Academy. I attended Lee University, and for the past 20 years I have been working with children. I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, and after retiring from Publix Supermarket of 23 years, we moved to Live Oak. I initially joined the staff at Melody to keep an eye on my son, but I soon found working here to be so rewarding. Mr. Matt and Mrs. Amanda are the best people one could ever work with and for.
